Date:13th July 2023 to 18th July, 2023.
Purpose of the Activity: The main objective of the course was to bridge the gap between what they already learnt and preparing them for their present syllabus. The following topics were covered in the session.

● Equations and Inequations
● Equation of line
● Graph of Linear equation
● Ascending and Descending order
● Plotting points on a Graph paper and deciding scale

The students were finding it difficult to understand the concepts initially but slowly they were able to catch up.
Interactive sessions, participation of Students and Quizzes were conducted during the session. A post bridge course test was conducted after completion of the syllabus to assess the student’s ability.
Outcome: Student’s response was very good and I felt confident to learn Semester mathematics. Also their performance in quizzes were quite good.

Investment awareness Program Report
Banking and Insurance Department had organized a session on “Investment awareness program on Exchange traded Commodity Derivatives on 22nd September, 2022 at 10.00 a.m. in the auditorium.Mr.Amogh Gothoskar was the resource person for the session. Amogh sir covered the following topics in commodity derivatives.
1) Trading Cycle (Contractual terms, Clearing services, Settlement)
2) Spot Commodity Market
3) Derivative Commodity Market
He also said that precisely there are 152 commodities to choose from for investment/arbitrage/hedging/speculation purposes.
He recommended the following four commodities for investment
1) Gold/Bullion –Long hedge & Short hedge strategies, most gold into India comes from Switzerland, Dubai & Finland. Price is determined on the basis of purity.
2) Crude oil- Types of oil indexes are-WTI /ASCI, BRENT CRUDE, DUBAI CRUDE. Ancillary products are fibers, polymers, furnace oil, petrol /diesel, aviation turbine fuel .India imports crude oil from Iran, OPEC, Russia, Ukraine and USA. It is found in the form of sour and sweet.
3) Soybean –Reasons to invest are
To enhance physique, endurance, stamina, standard of living, looks, going vegan etc.
Alternative for lactose intolerant people.Most important component for athletes, bodybuilders, weight lifters etc.
4) Copper- Only commodity used in mostly all business activities, mainly used to make wires in the form of copper cathode (99.99%cu) demand is extremely high.

The Department of Banking & Insurance of The S.I.A. College Of Higher Education in association with Financial Planning Academy Organised a session on Investor Awareness Program and Financial literacy among women on 4th March 2022 at 1.00 pm.
This session is organised for all girl students and women teaching and non- teaching staff.

Project Guidance Session on 22nd January 2022 :
The Department of Banking and Insurance organised an Online Project Guidance session for TYBBI Students on 22nd January, 2022 at 9.00 am on Microsoft teams Platform.
The Resource person the session was Mrs. Dr. Komal Bodhwani, Assistant professor, HOD Commerce dept. , S.H.M College of Commerce , Ulhasnagar.
43 students along with 3 Faculty attended the session.
Session on 18th December 2021:
The Department of Banking & Insurance Organized a session on “An Overview of Banking System and Central Banking” on 18th December 2021.The resource person for the session was Mr. Krishnan Chari, Chief Risk Officer Worldline Global. During the session sir provided the information about the working of the central bank and presented a sample of RBI report to the students. The session was attended by FYBI, SYBI,TYBI ,TYBMS,SYBMS and TYBAF students.

The BBI course has been designed to create trained professionals who can :

The B & I Club was formed with the objectives like :
- To explore the skills and qualities required for working in banking and insurance industry.
- To inculcate training and practical approach by using modern technology related to banking and insurance amongst the students.
- To prepare employable workforce in B&I through Industry interface, Bank visits and projects and presentations.
