Name of the Event: Orientation

Department: BAMMC

Target audience: FYBAMMC

Purpose of the activity: To familiarise the new students to the curriculum, NEP structure and activities for the year.

Activity: The students were oriented regarding the program outcomes, objectives of the department, NEP and its implementation, faculty list, infrastructural facilities, placements available in the campus, and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that students can participate in. Principal Dr. Padmaja Arvind also addressed first-year students and explained to them the importance of the course and what will be the takeaway by the students from the S.I.A college of Higher Education.

Outcome: 5 male and 25 female beneficiaries attended the orientation.

Name of the Event: Freshers Fiesta - Neophytes

Club: Avivo

Target audience: FYBAMMC

Purpose of the activity: To connect with each other and create an atmosphere of co-operation.

Activity: The ‘Freshers Fiesta – Neophytes’ was organized by the SY & TYBAMMC students to welcome the FYBAMMC students batch of 2026-27 on 30th June, 2026 at 11 am. in 106. Students were asked to sit in 106 classroom.

The seniors welcomed the students with a gift and had exciting games and dance and music to get to know the incoming students.

The programme created a warm and friendly atmosphere, helping students feel connected to the college community and marking a memorable beginning to their academic journey.

Outcome: In all 38 students, 19 male and 19 female beneficiaries attended the party.

Name of the Event: Photo Walk

Date: 3rd August, 2026

Venue: Girgaon Chowpatty

Purpose of the Activity: To provide practical exposure to photography, visual storytelling, and documentation of everyday life.

Outcome: The Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication organized a Photo walk activity for the students of FY, SY and TY on 3rd August 2026. The objective was to increase the interaction between students and group co-ordination.

The Course Faculty Mr. Sumedh Nikkam arranged the activity at Girgaon Chowpatty. The students were free to click photos and exhibit their talent.

The FY students being untrained were the focus. The objective was to provide students with practical exposure to photography, visual storytelling, and documentation of everyday life.

The activity encouraged students to explore the diverse visual elements of the area, including the beach, traditional architecture, local markets, streets, public spaces, cultural activities, and the daily life of the community.

The photo walk provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world environment.

Total beneficiaries: In all 44 students (26 females and 18 male) attended the event.

Name of the Event: Counselling Session

Date: 27th July, 2026

Time: 09:20

Venue: Classroom 313

Purpose of the Activity: To facilitate communication and co-ordination counsellor interaction with students.

Outcome: The Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication organized a college counsellor session for FY, SY, TY Students to facilitate communication and co-ordination of counsellor. Students were given information regarding the Counselling hub and its activities in the college.

The session covered topics related to Mental Health and well-being, social and emotional state of mind, various addictions, stress and importance of seeking help etc. Students actively participated in the discussion and also learned ways to manage stress and mental health on a daily basis.

Total beneficiaries: 47 (34 female and 13 male) students.
