Purpose:
The Green Club organized a workshop on "Best Out of Plastic Waste" to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to adopt the principles of reuse and recycling. The workshop aimed to inspire creativity by transforming discarded plastic materials into useful and decorative items while highlighting the importance of sustainable waste management.
Outcome:
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from Green Club members. Students creatively converted plastic bottles, containers, caps, and other waste materials into innovative eco-friendly products. The activity enhanced awareness about plastic waste reduction, encouraged responsible environmental practices, and motivated students to contribute towards a cleaner and greener future through sustainable living.

Purpose of the Activity:
Activity: The Green club, in association with Environment and Sustainability (A subject for First Year B. Com, Management Studies and Logistics students, had scheduled a Best out of Waste Presentation / Exhibition / Competition on Saturday 8 August 2026, at 11.00 am, in response to the need to enhance first-year students’ innovation and creativity. The goal of this presentation/ exhibition/ competition was to raise awareness among students on environmental issues.
Outcomes
Report of the Activity: The "Best Out of Waste" Presentation/ exhibition / competition was arranged by the Green Club of the college in association with Environment and Sustainability for first year degree students. Members of the Green club and the teaching faculty of Environment and Sustainability planned this event to instill the value of reusing items among students to create lovely crafts. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, they gave a presentation because, in their own words, "Recycling things is like magic that turns ordinary things into extraordinary." Getting the most innovative and beautiful things out of materials we no longer need is known as "getting the best out of waste." Students created wall hangings and a showpiece by using waste plastic material. They also prepared usable items, including a pen stand, a sand clock, toys, table lamp and a cotton bag by using domestic waste material. It was humorous to observe the students' inventiveness. Our future leaders were encouraged to think creatively by participating in the exhibition cum competition.

Name of the Event: Salad Fiesta Report

Purpose:
1. To promote entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy among students.
2. To create awareness about nutrition, healthy eating habits, and balanced diets.
3. To enhance student skills in teamwork, budget management, and public relations.
Activity Report:
The Green Club organized a Salad Fiesta on 14th August 2026 at the 1st floor corridor. The Salad Fiesta event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, teamwork and practical commerce skills through the setting up and management of food stalls. A total of 7 stalls were curated, featuring an innovative and nutritious menu prepared entirely by the students. The culinary highlights included Papad Tacos, Sushi Salad & Crunchy Sprouts, Creamy Veggie Corn Bowl, Chickpea Salad, Crimson’s Spicy Corn Chaat Bowl & Buttermilk, Soyabean Salad & Sprouts Salad, and Chana Salad. Alongside the food counters, students designed engaging, health-themed games to boost footfall.
A team of 31 students actively managed the entire supply chain—from sourcing fresh ingredients and calculating overhead costs to executing marketing strategies and handling live cash transactions.
Outcome: Through the activity, students gained practical experience in planning, costing, pricing, sales, customer interaction, stall management and teamwork, while also promoting healthy and nutritious food choices.

Purpose of the Activity:
The objective of the competition was to encourage students to observe and appreciate the beauty of nature at SIA College and express their creativity through photography. The activity aimed to develop students’ photographic skills, creativity, observation skills, and environmental awareness. It also promoted a sense of responsibility towards the protection and conservation of nature.
Activity:
The competition invited students to capture photographs based on the theme of Nature Photography within the college campus. Students photographed various elements of the natural environment, including plants, flowers, trees, birds, and other natural surroundings. The activity provided students with an opportunity to showcase their photography skills and present the beauty of nature from their own unique perspectives.
Outcome:
The event received enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. Participants demonstrated their creativity, photography skills, and appreciation for the natural environment through their entries. The photographs reflected diverse perspectives on the beauty and significance of nature.
The activity helped students enhance their observation skills, creativity, and environmental sensitivity. The photographs highlighted the importance of appreciating and preserving the natural surroundings. Name of the Event: Visit to Peb Fort Trek

Purpose of the Activity
The objective of the trek was to provide students with an opportunity to explore the historical significance of Peb Fort, experience the natural beauty of the Matheran region, and promote physical fitness through trekking. The activity also aimed to develop awareness about the cultural, historical, and ecological heritage of the area.
Activity Report
The Green Club of SIA College of Higher Education, Dombivli (East), organized a trek to Peb Fort (Vikatgad), Matheran, on 27th August 2026. The students were accompanied by Mr. Ganesh More and Dr. Shilpa Malani.
The students trekked through forest trails and hilly terrain to reach Peb Fort. During the visit, they explored the historical remnants of the fort while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and the Sahyadri ranges. The visit provided students with an opportunity to understand the historical and geographical significance of the region.
During the trek, students also visited Kadyavarcha Ganpati, a temple situated on the hillside and known for its distinctive location and cultural significance. Participants also experienced the scenic route along the historic Matheran toy-train railway tracks. The overall experience provided an engaging combination of nature, history, culture, physical activity, and adventure.
Throughout the trek, students followed eco-friendly practices and maintained cleanliness by ensuring that the natural surroundings remained free from litter. They were encouraged to respect the local environment and avoid activities that could cause harm to the natural surroundings.
Outcome
The trek provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect with nature and develop awareness about the importance of protecting natural habitats. It promoted physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and cooperation among participants. The experience also enhanced students’ understanding of the historical, cultural, and ecological significance of the region.
The activity complemented classroom learning through hands-on experience and encouraged students to adopt responsible and eco-friendly practices. Overall, the trek successfully contributed to developing environmental consciousness and a greater appreciation for nature and heritage among the students.
