Name of the Event: Orientation for FY

Date: 23rd June 2025

The orientation session was organized for FYBCOM students for the batch of 2025-26 on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11 am in 108 room. The orientation started with Hema mam addressing the students, welcoming them on their first day, and guiding them regarding different avenues available for commerce students. Thereafter, teachers of BCOM department oriented the students regarding the program outcomes, objectives of the department, faculty list, infrastructural facilities, placements available in the campus, and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that students can participate in. Principal Dr. Pratima Singh also addressed first-year students and explained to them the importance of the course and what will be the takeaway by the students from the S.I.A college of Higher Education. The students were also oriented with the NEP and its implementation. They were also oriented about the General instructions to be followed in the college premises.

Outcome: 32  male and  48 female beneficiaries attended the orientation.

Name of the Event: Fresher's Party

The fresher's party was held to welcome new students starting their first year of B. Com., creating a friendly atmosphere and encourage them to socialize with seniors and their peers. It serves students a new platform to develop their confidence, creativity and sense of belonging. Miss. Saloni Lodaya's inaugural address, which welcomed freshly enrolled students, the teachers' felicitations, conveners' speech by Mrs. Kavitha Nadar's, an icebreaking activities like Solo singing , Group dance, games and lastly Mr and Miss freshers, where many students participated and enjoyed. The event encouraged freshers and seniors to interact and develop relationships. The function closed with vote of thanks and DJ session where all students danced and had fun.

Outcome: 39 male and  25  female Students - Total 64 Students were the part of this event.

Name of the Event: Power Point Presentation Competition

The Power point presentation competition conducted by Calibre Commerce club started at 11.00am sharp with a warm welcome by our beloved student Grace Wilson to our Judge Dr.Hasitkumar Nagariya, Teachers and Students.

The students started presenting the topic selected by them. After each student presented, the judges asked the questions relevant to their topic.

The students were judged on 5 criteria they were Quality of the Content, Presentation Skills, Confidence, Confidence and Time management.

Kavitha Nadar the convenor of Calibre Commerce Club and other teachers of BCOM Department motivated the students to participate in many more events which will be conducted by the Calibre Commerce Club. They also appreciated the managing team who had conducted and co – ordinated the event in an organised manner. Overall the event went very well in a planned order.

The judges had a few words about the event and also appreciated each and every participant and their efforts in presenting and participating in the competition.

The judges selected two winners of the competition.

They were: - 1) Group 3:Aryan Amit Bhosale (Position 1)

 2) Group 4: Mital Sheth, Bhakti Prajapati,Mansi Dand, Yashswi, Anjum Shaikh (Position 2)

Outcome: 4  male and  10 female Students participated in the competition.

Calibre Commerce Club (Department of Commerce) organized a Video Screening Session on Monday, 12th August 2025, on account of International Youth Day.

The theme for International Youth Day was ‘Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond’

The purpose of the video screening was to create awareness about the issues and challenges faced by today’s youth. The video focuses on how young people are pivotal in transforming the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from abstract international targets into concrete community-level change. By acting locally, they make global ambitions real and actionable.Around 10 student volunteers of Calibre Commerce Club showed the video in all the classes.

Calibre Commerce Club of BCOM Department has organized Poster Competition on the occasion of "International Youth Day” on 12th August, 2025.

Calibre Commerce Club (Department of Commerce) organized a Video Screening Session on Monday, 29th September 2025 on account of Green Consumer Day.

Name of the Event: Subject Expert Lecture for TYBCOM SEM V

Purpose of the Activity: To provide guidance to students regarding their appearance in TYBcom SEM V University level examinations.
The Department of Commerce organized a series of expert lectures for TYBCOM Semester V students from 1st to 6th October to help them prepare for their university examinations. Dr. Savita Punjabi gave a lecture on Commerce V, focusing on important topics from the syllabus. On 3rd and 4th October, Mr. Dhanabalu Naikar conducted a session on Financial Accounting & Auditing – Paper VII: Financial Accounting, and Dr. Sunita Sherifani conducted a session on Cost Accounting (Financial Accounting & Auditing – Paper VIII), explaining key concepts and problem-solving methods. Finally, on 6th October, Dr. Vijay Pawar took a lecture on Business Economics V, covering essential economic theories and their applications. These lectures were useful for the students in strengthening their understanding and boosting their confidence for the upcoming exams.. Outcome: Students got good information regarding the focus areas for the upcoming exams, and they also felt better prepared for the exams after listening to the experts’ suggestions.
80 students got the benefit from the same.

The Parent–Teacher Meeting was conducted as per the agenda previously shared with all parents. The objective of the meeting was to discuss students’ academic progress, attendance status, behavioural observations, upcoming examinations, and the overall performance of the class. Teachers briefed the parents about academic requirements, internal assessments, attendance rules, and expectations from students for the successful completion of the semester. Parents were encouraged to maintain regular communication with the college and to monitor their ward’s progress. Principal Madam, Dr. Padmaja Arvind, also addressed the gathering and spoke about the Autonomous status of the college, the code of conduct for students, and the rules and regulations to be followed.
Faculty members informed parents about various upcoming activities and programmes planned for student development, including the NSS Camp, Workshops, Seminars, Eminence, Quiz Competitions, and other initiatives. Parents were also briefed about the Co-Curricular (CC) component for SY students, including attendance requirements, evaluation criteria, activity participation, and submission deadlines. Students are expected to complete all CC tasks as part of their academic progress. Parents shared valuable feedback and expressed appreciation for the initiatives planned. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continued collaboration between parents and faculty for the holistic development of students.
Outcome:
Total 45 parents of FYBCOM and 72 Parents of SYBCOM attended the meeting.

Name of the Event: Pragyan Events

On 10/01/2026, two engaging management-focused events, "CEO for the Day” and "Pitch Master,” were successfully conducted in Classroom 109 and Classroom 112 respectively. The CEO for the Day event aimed to inspire future leaders by providing practical exposure to managerial decision-making, leadership, and crisis management. Nine groups participated enthusiastically, competing across three rounds—an initial screening round, an analytical second round, and a final crisis management round with a wild card entry. The event began at 10:00 a.m. and was evaluated by Dr. Shilpa Malani, concluding at 1:00 p.m. Winners were Bhoomi Maiseri & Laxmi Lakhara (First Prize), Sahil Soni & Rishab Tiwari (Second Prize), and Om Mishra & Vinayak Pal (Third Prize). The event benefited 33 students (17 male and 16 female) and received positive feedback for its organization and learning outcomes.

The Pitch Master event focused on enhancing participants’ creativity, communication, and persuasive pitching skills by encouraging them to present innovative ideas effectively. Conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. under the esteemed judgment of Mrs. Salochna Nagdev, the competition consisted of two rounds: a Product Pitch and a Sales Pitch. Participants showcased strong presentation and marketing abilities, making the event highly interactive and impactful. Sahil Soni & Rishab Tiwari secured the First Prize, while Prachi Raulo won the Second Prize. The event benefited 10 students (8 male and 2 female). Overall, both events collectively enhanced leadership, strategic thinking, and professional communication skills among participants, benefiting a total of 43 students.

The Department of Commerce, under the banner PRAGYAN – Knowledge in Action, organized an Investor Awareness and Financial Literacy Session on "From Savings to Wealth: Understanding Mutual Funds for Long-Term Wealth Creation” for SY B.Com (A Division) and TY B.Com students. The session was conducted by Mr. Kalyan, a SEBI SMART Trainer and Certified Financial Trainer, with the objective of creating awareness about responsible investing and long-term wealth creation among young learners. The resource person explained the concept of savings versus investments, introduced mutual funds as a regulated and transparent investment avenue, and discussed various types of mutual funds, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), risk–return relationship, and the importance of diversification and compounding. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and seeking clarification on investment-related queries. The programme significantly enhanced students’ financial literacy, encouraged informed decision-making, and reinforced the importance of early and disciplined investing, thereby contributing meaningfully to practical financial education and investor awareness.

 The Department of Commerce, through Calibre Commerce Club – Eminence, successfully organized an Intercollegiate Industry Expert Session titled "From Savings to Wealth: Understanding Mutual Funds for Long-Term Wealth Creation” under PRAGYAN – Knowledge in Action, with the objective of enhancing financial literacy and practical investment awareness among students. The session was arranged for FYBCOM students and SYBCOM B Division. The session was delivered by Mr. Nihar Manoj Shanischara, Co-Founder of NIYOG Consultancy, NISM Certified Research Analyst, and Research Scholar in Accountancy, who provided valuable insights into the difference between savings and investments, various types of mutual funds, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), risk–return trade-offs, and the importance of long-term financial planning and compounding. The programme witnessed active participation from students of various colleges, with interactive discussions and clarification of investment-related doubts. Overall, the session effectively bridged the gap between theory and practice, encouraged informed and disciplined investing, and strengthened industry–academia interaction, making it a meaningful and impactful academic initiative.

The Department of Commerce organized a counselling session for the FYBCOM students on Monday, 9th March 2026 at 10:40 a.m. The session was conducted in Room No. 109 on the college campus.

The main objective of the session was to introduce the students to the counselling facilities available in the college and to encourage them to seek guidance whenever required. During the session, the counsellor introduced herself to the students and explained the purpose and importance of counselling for students’ academic, personal, and emotional well-being. The counsellor also informed the students about the days and timings available for counselling sessions on campus and the venue where the counsellor would be present for students who wish to attend individual counselling.

To make the session engaging, a small interactive activity was conducted which encouraged students to participate and express their thoughts. This activity helped in creating a comfortable environment and allowed students to interact openly with the counsellor.

The session witnessed active participation from the students and proved to be informative, interactive, and valuable. A total of 100 students attended the session, including 52 male students and 48 female students.

Overall, the counselling session was successful in creating awareness among students about the counselling support available in the college and motivating them to utilize these services for their personal and academic development.

The TYBCOM farewell ceremony was successfully conducted on 25th March 2026 with great enthusiasm and joy. The event began with the warm welcome of the respected Principal Ma’am, followed by her inspiring speech. She shared valuable guidance and best wishes for the bright future of the graduating students. Following this, other teachers of the department expressed their heartfelt thoughts and memories through farewell speeches. Their words were filled with encouragement, appreciation, and blessings for the TYBCOM students as they prepare to step into a new phase of life. To make the event lively and entertaining, students from SYBCOM and FYBCOM organized various games. These activities brought excitement and laughter, allowing everyone to actively participate and enjoy the celebration.

The atmosphere became even more vibrant as students celebrated with dance and music. The performances reflected the strong bond and memorable moments shared among classmates.

The event concluded on a cheerful note with a cake-cutting ceremony, marking a sweet ending to a memorable farewell. Overall, the program was a perfect blend of emotions, fun, and celebration, leaving lasting memories for everyone present.

Purpose of Activity: To provide guidance to students regarding their appearance in TYBcom SEM VI University level examinations

The Subject Expert Lecture Series for TYBCom students was organized with the objective of enhancing students’ academic knowledge and providing practical insights from experienced professionals in the respective fields. The sessions were conducted as per the scheduled timetable, and all students actively participated. The lecture series commenced on 14th March, beginning with a session on Financial Accounting & Auditing – Paper VIII (Cost Accounting) delivered by Dr. Sunita Sherifani from 9:20 am to 10:20 am. The session focused on key concepts of cost accounting, cost control techniques, and their practical application in business organizations. This was followed by a lecture on Commerce VI by Dr. Savita Punjabi from 10:40 am to 11:40 am, where students were introduced to important theoretical and practical aspects of commerce along with current industry trends. On 2nd April, a session on Business Economics – VI was conducted by Dr. Vijay Pawar from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The expert elaborated on economic principles, market structures, and their relevance in real-world business decision-making. The session was interactive and helped students understand the application of economic theories in business scenarios. The final session was held on 4th April, on Financial Accounting & Auditing – Paper VII (Financial Accounting) by Mr. Dhanabalu Naikar from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The lecture emphasized accounting standards, financial statement preparation, and analysis, providing students with clarity on important examination topics as well as practical exposure. A total of 50 students attended the lecture series, comprising 38 female students and 12 male students, reflecting active participation and keen interest among learners. Overall, the lecture series proved to be highly beneficial for the students. It not only strengthened their conceptual understanding but also bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The sessions were informative, engaging, and well-received by the students.
