Name of the Activity: Career guidance for CET, CAT in Association with placement cell

Date: 4.10.2024

Venue : Auditorium

Purpose of the Activity:  The objective of the session on guidance for CET and CAT, conducted in association with the placement cell, is to prepare final-year TYBMS students for competitive management entrance exams. The session aims to familiarize students with the exam patterns, syllabus, and strategies for effective preparation. It seeks to enhance their problem-solving skills, time management, and confidence to excel in these examinations, paving the way for higher education opportunities and career advancement in the field of management.

Outcome:

The Placement Cell organized a comprehensive career guidance program for final-year BMS students in the auditorium. The session focused on preparation strategies for competitive exams like CET and CAT, essential for pursuing higher education in management. Industry experts and academic mentors provided insights into exam patterns, time management, and effective study techniques. The event also included interactive segments where students addressed their queries regarding career planning and further studies. This initiative aimed to empower students with the tools and knowledge required to excel in these competitive exams and achieve their career aspirations.

Purpose of the Activity:  To enhance students’ understanding of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), its regulatory framework, and its role in safeguarding investor interests, while fostering financial literacy and awareness of market practices relevant to aspiring management professionals.

Outcome:

The Department of Management Studies has organized an informative session on the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for BMS students in the auditorium. The session aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of SEBI’s regulatory role in the Indian financial markets and its importance in protecting investor interests. The speaker highlighted key aspects such as market regulations, investor rights, and the role of SEBI in maintaining transparency and fairness in trading practices. Students actively participated in the interactive Q&A segment, gaining valuable insights into financial markets and regulatory frameworks. The session was highly beneficial for students aspiring to build careers in finance and management.

Name of the Activity: Project Guidance

Date: 18th, 21st & 25th November, 2024

Purpose of the Activity:  The objective of project guidance for TYBMS (Third Year Bachelor of Management Studies) final-year students is to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and support to successfully complete their academic projects.

Outcome:

A project guidance session for the TYBMS final-year students was conducted in Room No. 108 on 18th November. Session was taken by Asst.Prof.Booma Halpeth.The session focused on providing students with comprehensive insights into the project guidelines, objectives, and deliverable s. Key topics discussed included the selection of project topics, research methodologies, report structuring, and presentation techniques. Students were encouraged to explore innovative ideas aligned with their areas of interest and industry trends. Additionally, queries regarding project timelines, evaluation criteria, and faculty expectations were addressed to ensure clarity and alignment. The session aimed to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their final-year projects, fostering both academic and professional growth.

The objective of the session on Human Resources (HR) for final-year TYBMS students is to enhance their understanding of key HR concepts, practices, and strategies. The session aims to equip students with practical insights into talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development. By connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, the session seeks to prepare students for HR roles and responsibilities in a dynamic business environment, fostering their professional competence and readiness for future career opportunities.

Participation:

An HR session for TYBMS final-year HR students was conducted in the G-06 online mode. The session was conducted by Mrs. Pradnya Punekar, Suchita Nayak. The session aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of contemporary HR practices and their applications in the corporate world. Key areas covered included talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance appraisal, and organizational development. The resource person shared real-world examples and strategies to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations. Students actively participated in discussions and raised queries about emerging trends in HR, such as AI in recruitment and workplace diversity. The session concluded with actionable insights and guidance to prepare students for HR roles, ensuring they are equipped to meet professional challenges effectively.
