The goal of higher education is to bring an all-round development of the student and transform them into socially responsible citizens. The College has formed the Student Council which organizes a number of cultural events. These events provide opportunities for the students to showcase their abilities and excel in other fields in addition to academics. The Student Council organizes intra and Inter Collegiate events. Students are given opportunities to groom themselves and learn about team building, group dynamics, leadership skills and independent thinking during their academic life. The student council provides stage for the students to absorb these skills and helps to develop their personality.

Council students commemorated Ganpati Festival with a great blast by decorating Lord Ganesh Idol and the college premises with lighting, flowers and rangoli.  All teaching staff, non – teaching staff and students were present for the Ganesh Aarti at 9.20 a.m. Everyone worshipped Lord Ganesha by offering an Aarti and by reciting bhajans of different languages like Kanada, Tamil, Sanskrit, Hindi and Marathi.

The Aarti ended by 10.10am. Prasad was distributed to all.  The celebration has given a positive vibe to the entire college.

Student Council celebrated 165th birth anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The council had decorated a black board in the entrance of college premises so that all the students as well as teachers would observe and duly offer their respects to one of our greatest freedom fighters. The students did a placard presentation of 5 minutes projecting the journey of Tilak from Samanya to Lokmanya in each and every class, thus ensuring that the works done by this great leader is known to the current generation.  The Presentation was made exciting by the council, one of the students dressed himself as Tilak and also gave a motivating speech.

The students audience through this event got to know many things about Lokmanya Tilak and his phenomenal work towards the country and also towards the country men.

There were also small fun and interactive games organised for the teachers. Teachers also made the celebration entertaining by showcasing their talents. At the end of the celebration teachers were felicitated with rose and diary as a token of acknowledgement.

Sparklers Report

Student Council organized Sparklers a cultural Fest on 23rd and 24th December 2021.On 23rd December Intercollegiate event was organized on Microsoft Teams under which 13 competitions were organized and on 24th Intra collegiate event was organized following Co-vid 19 protocol under which 4 Competitions were organized. The event was sponsored by ITM, Business School, Kharghar. Total 147 students participated in all the competitions.

  • Student Council organized an E-Quiz Competition in observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July, 2020. 143 students participated in the competition and Participation certificates were given.

Photo collage of past few years Independence Day was shown and speech was given by faculty members. A Documentary on pre-independence period was shown. Teacher video of happy Independence Day wishes in different regional languages was screened and the program ended with vote of thanks.50 teaching & nonteaching & 20 students attended the program.

  • The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated on January 26, 2021 in the college campus. All teaching and non-teaching staff were present along with management committee members. The principal and staff of The S.I.A. College of Physiotherapy were also present. The event began at 8.00 am with formal welcome to all the members. The secretary of the Association, Shri K. V. Ranganathan unfurled the National Flag to mark the celebration of 72nd Republic Day. The national anthem was sung as a respect towards the flag. Thereafter, the President, Shri T. N. Muthukrishnan, and Secretary of the Association addressed the audience with inspiring speeches on the meaning and history of this auspicious day.

Thereafter, one of our watchmen, Anant Khedekar was facilitated for his exemplary contribution to the College during the pandemic. Prof. RanjanaMhalgi, the IQAC Coordinator also shared her views on the experiences gained during lockdown. Another faculty from Physiotherapy College also shared some insights on the importance of Republic Day. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Mahesh Kandalkar, the Convenor of the Student Council. The entire event was anchored by Prof. SandhyaThakkar, representative of Staff Academy and social distancing was followed effectively.

Death Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam was observed by Student Council.
The teachers as well as council students paid homage to the great legend by lighting candles and offering flowers. Thereafter, a documentary was aired on the screen, depicting the simple and modest life and thought of the great man who has earned worldwide acclaim in the field of science.
The students of B.Com (Banking and Insurance) department presented a dance performance panning the life of Kalam Sir, right from his childhood to his last day. The performance was much appreciated by the audience comprising of staff and 89 students.
The event concluded on a warm note with a message that we must all aspire to live a meaningful and fulfilling life just like the great man, who believed in living simply but valuing success through hard work and commitment.

  • Student Council in association with ITM ,Dombivli organised a workshop on Campus to Corporate on 20.11.2019 for T.Y.Bcom Students.71 students participated in this work shop.
  • Student Council organised Mr.and Miss SIA Competition on 18 th December ,2019. 26 students participated in the competition Akash Joshi from T.Y.Bcom & Nishita Shinde from FYBMM are the winners.
  • Student Council organised Sparklers a cultural event on 19th and 20th December,2019 .Total 22 events including literary,fineart,performance art were organised .The event was sponsored by Rotary Club of Dombivli Heritage, ITM Business School,Dombivli ,ICA Dombivli, Career Skills,Miga Fashion Instistute,Sai Krupa Mandap Decorators,Prabhat Staionery,Ashida Arts,Fruit frenzy & boofiya (Gift Coupons).501 students from different colleges participated in various events. The SIA College of Higher Education from Dombivli got best college award.
  • Pongal was celebrated in college by Student Council.229 students participated .
  • Student Council organised a session on Women safety & Drug Prevention on 23-1-2020 from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Dr.Vijay Chinchole spoke about types of drugs, its effect & symptoms of drug addict.He also created awareness about mobile addiction.Mrs Supriya Kulkarni addressed the crowd about women safety and guided about simple techniques that can be used to save themselves in danger situations.API Deepak More guided the students on laws and legislations on traffic rules,drug consumption & civil issues.65 students attended the session.

A Video was screened depicting life journey of A.P.J Abdul Kalam . Students gave speech about contribution of A.P.J Abdul Kalam in the field of education, research, aeronautics.
