Purpose of the Activity : The major goal of the day is to increase awareness about the disease and to minimise the social stigma connected with it. Cancer is the world’s second largest cause of death. Lung, breast, cervical, head & neck, and colorectal cancer are the most common cancers in Indians.

Outcome : NSS volunteers created awareness regarding cancer among women, cancer like breast cancer and uterus Cancer and explained what precaution they can take to avoid that cancer.

Purpose of the Activity :Corruption affects all areas of society. Preventing corruption unlocks progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, helps protect our planet, creates jobs, achieves gender equality, and secures wider access to essential services such as healthcare and education.

The NSS Cell University of Mumbai Organized anti-corruption session was taken by Sir Hemant Sawant. This session was basically about anti-corruption and sir also said why we should not take or give money to do our work and sir also explain and aware the youth of NSS Volunteers.

Purpose of the Activity : National Unity Day in India is Observed as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth anniversary. The NSS Unit of the S.I.A. College performed street play on National Unity Day to spread awareness about unity in the community to change their thinking and try to make them unite.

Purpose of the Activity : To spend quality time with abandoned elders, providing them with the much-needed feeling of togetherness and bonding of a family, which makes Diwali special to all. Children of the orphanage dedicated Diwali greetings to their friends by designing their own colourful cards. A diya decoration contest was organised, which encouraged the girls to express their creativity.

To add to the cheer and joy, Diwali gifts were distributed to the children and snacks were served to all. At the end of a lovely day, the sevaks left with hearts overflowing with love and delight.

Purpose of the Activity : Donating to the needy is a great way to improve the conditions in your neighborhood or community. Donating food to the worthy people or organizations helps counter poverty, hunger and at the same time, it can improve harmony, friendliness, and trust among residents.

The NSS Unit of The S.I.A. College collected Donation from Volunteers and from Community to donate in slum area near Aiyregaon.

Purpose of the Activity : Your good self is aware that the objective of this initiative is to instill values of non-violence amongst the students of the University of Mumbai, to bring about positive changes to the society at large by involving the students in a series of socially constructive activities. Mahatma Gandhi’s strong belief in the concept of Service Leadership – a style in which service to society is the leader’s prerogative and a style that he himself followed throughout his life is one such value that can play an exemplary role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow into Globally Responsible Citizens.

Venue : National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. If Any Individual wants to serve a nation, joining the army is not mandatory, it can be done by joining NSS also.

Outcome : The NSS Unit of The S.I.A. College celebrated NSS Day in College campus by NSS Flag hosting by Respected Principal Dr. Padmaja Arvind, Played Lakshay Geet and Speech by Tarun Kuckian NSS member and also aware about NSS Day And its Importance.

Purpose of the Activity : Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which was not only free but also clean and developed. Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India. Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean.

The NSS Unit of the S.I. A College Distributed cotton bags in the community. The main motive is to create awareness in the mind of people to stop using plastic bags and say no to plastic.

NSS unit of the College in association with Rotary Club Midtown Dombivli and Indian Medical Association organized Basic Life Support Workshop along with Organ Donation Awareness Lecture on 15th September, 2022. from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Dr. Archana Pate, Hon. Secretary IMA Dombivli and Dr. Meena Pruthi, Chairperson Spiritual Subcommittee IMA Maharashtra State were the resource persons of the workshop. Madam demonstrated hands only CPR. The step-by-step procedure of CPR was explained in detail which is also known as DRSABCD or (Doctors ABCD) that is D- Danger, R- Response, S- Send for help, A- Airway, B- Breathing, C- CPR, D- Defibrillator.

After the workshop hands on training was given to the volunteers, which made the workshop more useful for them.

Organizing Agency:Terapanth Yuvak Parishad – Dombivli Collaboration with Central Hospital Blood Bank

Purpose of the Activity : Provide safe and quality blood and blood components collected from voluntary donors, round the clock, at affordable cost to the general public and free of cost to the poor. Ensure safety and quality of blood. Motivate and maintain a permanent well-indexed record of voluntary blood donors. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant.

NSS volunteers participated in Blood Donation Drive Organized by Terapanth Yuvak Parishad – Dombivli and Collected Blood from Community. To help people from poor families.

Purpose of the Activity : Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique that’s useful in many emergencies, such as a heart attack or near drowning, in which someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped. The American Heart Association recommends starting CPR with hard and fast chest compressions.

NSS volunteers participate in the CPR Training program and learn Method of CPR and also know where and when to use CPR and also, we know about Organ Donation Awareness, what is an importance of Organ for life and also, we can save the life of others.

Venue : Nandivali, Kumbharnpada, bhoir wadi, saat pool jetty

Purpose of the Activity : Swachh Nirmalya’ Project enables devotees to recycle their votive offerings. Hundreds of corporate, citizen and student volunteers work with Swachh waste-pickers and staff to divert over a hundred tons of this waste each year from the rivers to the recycling stream.

The NSS Volunteer performs Nirmalya Collection activity to clean our natural water bodies. In Nirmalya volunteers segregate dry waste (plastic) and wet waste (Nirmalaya). Volunteers perform this activity on various ghats on the date of Ganpati visarjan. This activity was not only about cleaning the river but volunteers also create awareness and try to change the mindset of people so they don’t throw waste in rivers.

Outcome : The NSS Volunteer performs Nirmalya Collection activity to clean our water bodies. In Nirmalya volunteers segregate dry waste, plastic and flowers.

Purpose of the Activity : Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday launched Polio National Immunization Day, as part of National Immunization Drive. He administered polio drops to children less than five years old. The drive will be held across the country on Sunday, 18 September, and crores of children below the age of five will be vaccinated against polio. The activity is to help the government to eradicate polio from our country and make India a Polio free nation.

Purpose of the Activity : The main objective of the activity to promote the campaign – Say no to plastic bags as plastic bags are a threat to our environment because a single plastic bag takes up to 1000 years to decompose as it contains non-renewable petrochemicals. Hence plastic bags will stay for a more extended period and damage our Mother Nature.

Outcome : NSS volunteers distributed 100 cotton bags at NSS adopted area-Sagarli gaon and created awareness among the people to avoid the usage of Plastic bags

Purpose of the Activity : The major goal of the day is to increase awareness about the disease and to minimise the social stigma connected with it. Cancer is the world’s second largest cause of death. Lung, breast, cervical, head & neck, and colorectal cancer are the most common cancers in Indians.Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated every 26th July in India, to observe India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999.

Purpose of the Activity : World Population Day is observed every year on 11th July to raise awareness about global population issues. Overpopulation is a critical concern as the world’s resources are being used up at an unsustainable rate. Besides, the need to guarantee that women have access to family planning, gender equality, and maternal health care is more important than ever because of the expanding population’s impact on maternal health and family planning issues.

Purpose of the Activity :NSS unit of the College celebrated International Yoga day in association with Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti. Mrs. Meena Thakkar and her team has taught volunteers the common yoga protocol from 9.00 am to 10.00 am in the college auditorium.

30 NSS volunteers attended the same in which there were 13 boys and 17 girls.

Purpose of the Activity :Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday launched Polio National Immunization Day, as part of National Immunization Drive. He administered polio drops to children less than five years old. The drive will be held across the country on Sunday, February 27, and crores of children below the age of five will be vaccinated against polio while adhering to Covid-19 norms like wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and sanitizing hands. The Purpose of the activity is to help the government to eradicate polio from our country and make India a Polio free nation.

Purpose of the Activity : The World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 of each year with the aim to mark the importance of nature and raise awareness for its protection. The Purpose of conducting the activity is to raise awareness on issues that are threats to the environment.

Outcome :NSS volunteers used waste plastic bottles by recycling and planted 80 saplings of different plants. The same saplings were distributed in the community and also awareness was created among the citizens regarding how to recycle plastic bottles and importance of tree plantation was also explained.
