Purpose of the event: To gain knowledge about RBI and its role in Financial inclusion and financial literacy.
Outcome: The Bankers & Movers Club of Department of Banking and Insurance organised visit to RBI Office ,Mumbai and RBI Monetary Museum for the students of Third year Banking and Insurance.
A session on Role, functions, financial literacy programs of RBI was conducted for by the officials of RBI from Financial Inclusion and Development Department. The session covered various topics such as RBI – History, functions, authority, responsibility, supervisory, banking Ombudsman, cyber security, financial literacy, financial inclusion etc.
The students also visited RBI Monetary Museum. A documentary on coinage history of India was shown and visited the museum.
Students actively participated in the discussion and learned about role of RBI in financial inclusion. They gained knowledge about coins history of India.
40 Students (32 female and 8 male) attended the Visit.

Milestones Series: Nationalization of Banks

Name of the event : Counselling Session on Time Management and Mental Health for SY & TY BBI students
Organizing Agency : College Counselling Hub – Counsellor
Venue: Classroom
Purpose of the event : Managing Time and ways to improve mental well being .
Outcome: The Students were made aware of role of a counsellor in the college and availability. The Session covered topics related to time management, Importance of not managing time, signs of poor mental health, good mental health, managing time in situations like exams, interviews, relationships. Consequences of unmanaged time were also discussed. Students were made aware of different ways to manage time in day to day life. Students shared their experience of not being able to manage time and it’s consequences. This was connected to easy ways to start managing time effectively. Techniques like Podomoro, 2 minute rule, journaling, to do list, urgent importance square was explained to them. Students were encouraged to practice hobbies, meditation, exercise etc
Students actively participated in the discussion and also learned ways to manage time and mental health on daily basis. Students showed a positive feedback about the sessions and requested for more such sessions

Target Audience: FYBI
The Department of Banking and Insurance organised an Orientation Program on 9th July 2024 at 9.40 am for the students of FYBBI students to orient them regarding the course. The students were oriented by giving various information on the subject, activities conducted by the department and college, various committees in the college, placement and internship given by the college and various other facilities given by the college. The students were also oriented with the NEP and its implementation in Banking and Insurance Program.
Our Principal Dr. Padmaja Arvind addressed the students and explained them the importance of course and what will be the takeaway by the students from the S.I.A college of Higher Education. Students from SYBBI and TYBBI also shared their experience.

Students actively participated in the discussion and quiz conducted by resource person.

Purpose of the Activity: To create awareness among the students and acquire additional knowledge on the subject of Investment alternatives and general consumer awareness in the society.
Outcome: A session on How to be Wise Consumer and Smart Investor was organised and the members from Consumer Guidance Society of India were invited as resource persons. The students were made aware of various investment avenues and popular choices among consumers. The Session covered topics such as investment alternatives, benefits of early investment, money management etc. Also rights and duties of consumers were discussed.
Students actively participated in the discussion and learned about smart ways of investing.
